RCIA - Sr. Beth Quire


Sister Beth Quire, OP began at St Dorothy’s in February of 2018, just in time for Lent. Sister has been a Dominican for 20 + years.  Growing up in Southern California, she began her faith Journey at St. Gregory the Great in Whittier.  This was her home parish for her first 22 years, where she received all her sacraments and went to elementary school. Her Catholic education continued at St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs where in addition to studying she performed in many music groups and the occasional musical. She studied Mathematics at CSU Fullerton earning a BA. This was followed with a Teaching Credential and an AA in Religious Studies at Queen of the Holy Rosary College, a little college of the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose. Finally, Sister topped off her education with an MA in Theology from Notre Dame, Indiana. She is the second oldest of six. Family time is special with her siblings and 9 nieces and nephews ranging in age from 30 to 4. Sister spends her time off hiking, making music and crafting. Before landing at St Dorothy, Sister taught Mathematics and Theology for 20 years at a variety of schools in California. Sisters main contributions to the parish come in Directing the RCIA Process for Children, Teens and Adults and assisting with Bereavement Ministry.
